We hope you will never need it, but we do strongly recommend that you should have insurance cover for the $4000 excess which is your liability under our insurance cover.

If you are on holiday and have travel insurance, check your policy. Travel insurance often includes rental excess cover. But do check the amount and circumstances covered carefully.

If you are using a premium credit card-Platinum, Gold etc, to pay the rental, the card may offer free rental excess cover.  Contact your card issuer to check.

Your own comprehensive car insurance may include rental excess cover,  but be careful, under some policies the cover is only for a rental while your car is off the road for repairs after an accident.

If none of those options tick the box, we've found an independent company called Rental Cover which specialises in rental excess cover. Click here to go to their site to organise your cover. The cost is only about $15.00 per day, and less for longer rental periods.

Be aware that under all of these insurance arrangements, you are still directly liable to pay us the first $4000 of any damage to the car during the rental period. You can then recover that payment from your insurer. They do not pay us direct, and we cannot claim on your insurance. We rely on your cooperation and of course your credit card authorisation to pay for any damage (up to your liability limit of $4000) and then it is up to you to process your insurance claim.
